IMLI CHANA DAL

The imli chana dal is very beneficial to health.Hence, it is recommended to include imli chana dal in our diet.

The ingredients of imli chana dalk are:

INGREDIENTS

  • Split Bengal gram (chana dal), raw - 20 gms
  • Green chillies, finely chopped - 1
  • Tomatoes, finely chopped - ½ medium
  • Asafoetida - a pinch
  • Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Dried red chillies - 2
  • Ginger - garlic paste - 1/2 tbsp
  • Tamarind paste - 1/2 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - 1/2 tsp

 

DIRECTIONS

  • Soak chana dal in water for 30 mins. Drain and boil chana dal with tomatoes, turmeric powder, salt, green chillies and 1½ cups water in a deep non stick pan till completely cooked but not mashed.
  • Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add asafoetida, cumin seeds and mustard seeds. When the mustard seeds splutter, add dried red chillies and mix well.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste, tamarind paste, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and mix well. Add chana dal, ½ cup water and salt and mix well and bring to a boil.

Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
