The ingredients of imli chana dalk are:
INGREDIENTS
- Split Bengal gram (chana dal), raw - 20 gms
- Green chillies, finely chopped - 1
- Tomatoes, finely chopped - ½ medium
- Asafoetida - a pinch
- Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
- Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
- Dried red chillies - 2
- Ginger - garlic paste - 1/2 tbsp
- Tamarind paste - 1/2 tbsp
- Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - 1/2 tsp
DIRECTIONS
- Soak chana dal in water for 30 mins. Drain and boil chana dal with tomatoes, turmeric powder, salt, green chillies and 1½ cups water in a deep non stick pan till completely cooked but not mashed.
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add asafoetida, cumin seeds and mustard seeds. When the mustard seeds splutter, add dried red chillies and mix well.
- Add ginger-garlic paste, tamarind paste, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and mix well. Add chana dal, ½ cup water and salt and mix well and bring to a boil.
Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
