The ingredients of rassedar chana are:
INGREDIENTS
- Horse gram soaked overnight - 30 gms
- Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped - 2 tablespoons
- Green chillies chopped - 1
- Ginger chopped - 1 inch piece
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Asafoetida - a pinch
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Red chilli powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - ½ tsp
- Tomatoes finely chopped - 20gms
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - ½ tsp
DIRECTIONS
- Grind coriander leaves, green chillies, ginger and salt in a mixer jar.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds, asafoetida, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and coriander powder and saute till fragrant. Add horse gram and mix well. Now, Add salt and mix.
- Add tomatoes and mix well. Saute till the tomatoes become pulpy. Add 2 cups water and mix well.
- Cover the pressure cooker with the lid and cook on a high heat till 4 whistles are given out
- Then reduce heat and cook for 3-4 minutes. Open the lid when the pressure reduces completely.
- Serve hot.
